Ship Community Outreach offers a variety of programs to help meet the needs of the community. In addition to the weekly community outreach events we host where we distribute food to the community, we also have an affordable grocery store in a food desert (Galley Grocery Store), a free workout facility (Ship Yard), youth summer camps, a Transitional Employment Initiative, and a trafficking initiative.

We wanted to have a place to really talk about the issues being faced by the Southeast Raleigh community. We hope to use this blog to talk about the needs of the community, how Ship and other organizations are working to meet those needs, and the work that still needs to be done. Some of the issues we hope to talk about include poverty, food insecurity, gentrification, racial injustice, human trafficking, violence, substance abuse, transition from imprisonment, and more. Stay tuned every Wednesday to learn more about these issues and to hear from community members and our partner organizations about what we can do to bring change.
